Design Miami Shop Offers 52 Major International Galleries

The new e-commerce platform, which launched on Thursday, June 25, features 800 pieces from 52 international galleries. Almost every gallery that was due to participate has contributed works to the platform. Visitors will find objects starting at just $100, all the way up to exceptional historic works like a demountable home by Jean Prouvé for a cool $1.5 million. Collectors can browse the catalog by product, era, and gallery, as well as find specially curated areas, such as Contemporary Ceramics, Brazilian Modernism, and French Mid-Century.

“We believe that our new online platform will be a valuable addition to the Design Miami/ portfolio and become a destination where visitors can browse and purchase the best in collectible design from the foremost experts in the field as they would at our fairs,” says Design Miami/ CEO Jennifer Roberts.

SOME OF THE PIECES YOU CAN FIND AT DESIGN MIAMI SHOP:

  • JOS DEVRIENDT NIGHT AND DAY 266 LAMP
Design Miami Shop Offers 52 Major International Galleries

The lamp is one-of-a-kind, hand-thrown, and hand-glazed. Jos Devriendt has been consistently inspired by nature in his work, which makes curvilinear shapes an ongoing font of inspiration. He is renowned for his ceramic mushroom lamps; minimalist and iconic contemporary sculptures that are conceptual and functional.

  • GUISEPPE RAIMONDI AND UGO NESPOLO MARGHERITA DINING SET

From a Private collection in Napoli, this dining set from the early ’60s represents the Italian avant-garde design of the time.

  • BARBERINI & GUNNELL GOLEM

This sculptural chaise longue uses mirror polished stainless steel, material which the architect and design duo describes as, “amorphous, devoid of soul, emotion, and life taking on the shape from an ancient legend.” As a mass of shapeless steel, at first, Golem may appear still, docile, or dormant, but it’s raw powerful existence quickly transforms into a loud, disquieting monster.
  • KRANEN/GILLE A CHRYSTAL PALACE CHAIR

Gallery Priveekollektie in Heusden invited them to make a series of chairs based on the “Forest” dining chair they designed earlier that year. They decided to take the opportunity to use the narrative character of the chair’s backrest as a palette to tell the story of Kranen/Gille in 7 chapters.

For those that are unable to join them in person, make sure you visit Design Miami Shop HERE to take advantage of viewing and purchasing material from their exhibitions.
