ICFF 2019: DAY 4 EVENTS
ICFF TALKS – SPIRIT OF THE PLACE WITH CHAD OPPENHEIM
May 22nd – 12pm
Chad Oppenheim, the American architect famous for the graceful style he can offer with his projects, will present “Spirit of the place”, the first monograph of Oppenheim Architecture: 120 photographs to describes seven projects of the firm and the differences that the various locations have brought to the surface, from homes in the Bahamas and in Aspen to a resort in the Jordanian desert. The natural world and what it can offer to the design – a closer look to the human alienation and the way we can reconnect with each other’s – is the main focus of the editorial project, following Oppenheim’s motto “form follows feeling”. And don’t forget the book signing!
ICFF CARES – SILENT AUCTION
May 22nd – 3 p.m.
The second edition of the initiative comes back with the same purpose: raise awareness for Alzheimer through a Silent Auction that will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. It will be the perfect excuse to purchase some of the most wanted ICFF exhibitors’ design items while contributing to a good cause. The perfect combination, in our opinion! Bid onsite or via the online platform; the reception and the main ceremony announcing the winning bids will be held today at ICFF Talks Main Stage.
24 YEARS OF BRITISH EUROPEAN DESIGN GROUP AT ICFF
With over 20 exhibitors and the special feature “The London tin house” the organization is still at the top when it comes to organize and promote creative excellence and design projects. An example is the project “A German architect’s vision for a dream house made from tin” in which the award-winning German architect Henning Stummel embarks himself in an especially respectable mission: environmental and energy-saving pavilions that occupy an abandoned backyard plot in London. Original pyramidal roofs and innovative layouts are some of the features while industrial materials maximize the distinctive design.
