DW! DESIGN WEEKEND BEST STANDS
LUMINI
The u.f.o. collection of the designer Fernando Prado took inspiration from other universes, in particular from unidentified flying objects: that’s the concept behind the lamps’ original shape, that resembles a flying disc. Lumini, the brand presenting the collection, is a Brazilian lighting company that for decades has researched through technological innovations the best way to improve people’s lives.
PUNTO E FILO
Born from the expertise that only a long tradition can offer, Punto e Filo is a brand producing carpets and rugs, becoming with the years an authority in the industry for the hand-crafted quality that the company provides with its products. It’s well-known that carpets and rugs usually are the biggest items in a room, so they deserve a lot of attention – the same care that three generations of know-how have given to the brand. It will present the Ponto line, a collection designed by architect Rodrigo Ohtake, that wants to put attention to the beauty of carpets with unusual shapes and vibrant colors.
VIRGULAOVO
For 27 years Luciana Martins and Gerson de Oliveira have created original design pieces under their design brand and studio, Virgulaovo. The purpose behind the creation’s method is to aspire to the maximum functionality in an object but that can still display an unusual flavor, an artistic influence that shows the soul of the piece. For them even a simple object as a chair can reveal totally different qualities, instigating a conversation about it.
It will present its novelties: TRAPÉZIO, in which the geometrical form highlights a more traditional shape; ALÇA, and OLHOS, each of them created for different situations but always combining function with inventiveness.
BERTOLUCCI
Herba luminaire and Cantante table lamp are two of the products that Bertolucci – a 1956-born Brazilian brand – will present at the 2019 edition of the DW! Design Weekend. The first has seen the collaboration of Marko Brajovic that let the fluid movement of the wind in the grass inspire him for his use of manually bent copper tubes with acrylic sticks illuminated by LED; instead, Cantante table lamp has been developed by designer Claudia Moreira Salles and displays a polished brass finish in different color paints.
FRANCCINO
The brand, through the dedication of the Franccino’s brothers, established the first showroom in Sao Paulo in 2001. Since then its philosophy has always been about equal attention to materials and details and thus creating long-lasting design pieces with various collaboration with esteemed designers during the years. ORNARE
Luxury brand Ornare has been at the top of the Brazilian market since 1986 when it was founded by entrepreneurs Esther and Murillo Schattan. Specialized in kitchens, baths, and closet products, the brand provides high-quality tailor-made design pieces, always equipped with the latest trends and innovations. The STILO bathroom displays the elegance and thin lines of its name while the PARIS kitchen has a more traditional aura, creating a visual atmosphere directly from the past.
